EMI का full form है Equated Monthly Installment — यानी हर महीने loan चुकाने की fixed किस्त।
जब आप bank से loan लेते हैं (home loan, car loan, personal loan), तो bank एक fixed monthly amount तय करता है जो आपको हर महीने चुकानी होती है। इसमें principal (मूलधन) और interest (ब्याज) दोनों शामिल होते हैं।
EMI Formula
EMI calculate करने का standard formula:
EMI = P × r × (1 + r)ⁿ / ((1 + r)ⁿ - 1)
जहाँ:
- P = Principal (loan amount) — कितना loan लिया
- r = Monthly interest rate — (annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100)
- n = Total months — कितने महीने का loan है
Step-by-Step Example
Scenario: ₹5,00,000 का Personal Loan

Step 1: Monthly interest rate निकालें
r = 12% ÷ 12 ÷ 100 = 0.01
Step 2: Formula में values डालें
EMI = 5,00,000 × 0.01 × (1.01)³⁶ / ((1.01)³⁶ - 1)
Step 3: Calculate करें
(1.01)³⁶ = 1.4308
EMI = 5,00,000 × 0.01 × 1.4308 / (1.4308 - 1)
EMI = 5,00,000 × 0.014308 / 0.4308
EMI = 7,154 / 0.4308
EMI = ₹16,607 (approx.)
Result:

EMI कम कैसे करें?
- Tenure बढ़ाएं — ज्यादा months = कम EMI (लेकिन ज्यादा total interest)
- Down payment ज्यादा दें — loan amount कम होगा
- Interest rate negotiate करें — अच्छा CIBIL score हो तो कम rate मिलता है
- Part-prepayment करें — बीच में extra amount pay करें
EMI vs Flat Rate vs Reducing Balance
